Pretty Singapore

So yes, Christmas in Singapore. What’s Singapore like now? I would say that it’s still pretty much clean and tidy, expensive and oh, lovely public transport system. But erm, I find Singapore very humid, small, filled with un-imaginable amount of people and yes, weird people. Why weird? Let’s just say that the people there ain’t all that friendly, wanna know more about that? Call me.

Having just got back from Australia, the dirty and dodgy side of Kuala Lumpur is hitting my nerves, and this made me crave for Singapore a tad bit more. That said, I’ve heard a lot about how awesome it is to celebrate Christmas in Singapore. It’s not too shabby, do watch the previous video that I posted.

My Christmas week was spent this way:

We throtted through the hussel bussel of Orchard Road, sparkled through the magnificient Clark Quay, bask in the romantic Dempsey Hill, rush through the brimmed up Sentosa Island, dazzle in Vivo city, and oh, had some awesome dinner in Jalan Amoy.

And yeah, there are a couple of random stuff here too… Check this out, a nameless restaurant.

And other random stuff,

Roar! This Predator is made out of recycle metal, also known as SCRAP.

Note: A cute little Christmas Tree, but wait a minute

Keep Out kids!

All in all, Singapore is just ok, nothing much to boast about really. Love the place, dislike the people. Shucks!

Ikea in Adelaide

I love Ikea, cheap food, pretty furniture’s and their funky soft toys! The geeest that got me there was their advert for the big breakfast! It’s crazy cheap, and i think they should sent the person who is in charge with pricing into the psychiatric ward!

The Ikea in Adelaide looks awefully like the one in Malaysia (without The curve and Ikano by its sides). I took the J1 bus from Grenfell Street, the same bus that goes to the airport. I do wonder at times about Ikea’s main business, food or furnitures. It seems like they are concentrating more towards the food part here in Adelaide. Anyways, the ditto part of Ikea begun as i walked in.

Look, the same escalator up to the show rooms and the cafeteria!

Same look and positioning to the dining area

Ze toilet!

This is the intersection between the showroom, cafeteria and the stairs down to where we grab our items (store house)

Drinks station

So yeah, looks pretty darn the same eh? Well, i thought this was a coincidental thing, but NO! My Italian friend told me that the Ikea in Italy looks the same too!!! Woot Woot! Ikea is running out of ideas eh? At least for once i thought I was home again! Could have just bump into my car and drive around again, instead, reality hit me hard, the closest thing on wheels was the bus for me!

There, look at the low prices!

Smiley Australian chefs looking at some sweedish touch, whats a sweedish touch? hehehe…Tell me Andy!

The only thing thats missing up there is the chef’s special nasi lemak and rojak bumbuu… hehehe.

I ordered the big breakfast, at AUD$3.50. Can never find a full meal at this price! The big breakfast was ermmm, big? Doesnt taste like Ikea, taste more like sausages and eggs + some bread.

Ikea is fun, it always is! 40% of my room is Ikea, I suppose Ikea feeds are room like our stomachs too!

P.s: The only difference that is big enough for me to notice is: No brown people, it was just a shade of white! No loud screaming aunties feeding their kids too!

Back Home

It’s been sometime since i updated, my bad. I’ve been busy with life, work to be specific. It’s been good so far being back home, never felt so comfy in a long time. Big bed, odorless room, tasty food and family, cant ask for more eh? Well, my second time flying with Singapore Airlines, and I have to say that this awesome airlines beats friggin Malaysia airline anytime!

Leaving Adelaide is pretty darn sad, saying good byes and leaving my care free life behind seems hard, that said, getting busy with work now is good, at least for me.

I got up at 6.30am, brought my bags down to the bus stop, and then headed for the airport. Limping with 30 odd kg’s, hard stuff! Well, I am happy to say that i survives that ordeal.

Airports = Sad place

The last time I was there, I was saying good bye to Mike (canadian). Really sad saying good bye to a buddy of mine, and now, my turn, saying good bye to more! Bleh, shucks!

Adelaide Airport is the only place in Australia to get proper Free WIFI! Free internet in Australia, thats rare!

Before boarding, I was debating if I should get wasted or not. And oh, there were signs everywhere saying that I should, Eg:

Ze AleHouse!

The Coopers Alehouse in Adelaide airport is an awesome place to chill! Beer kinda taste better there, I reckon its because of the fiery jet fuel after taste. I was observing the glasses with beer in it, everytime a plane lands, it ripples, just like the water in Jurassic Park. So, the modern Dinosaurs, not Barney, PLANES!

Adelaide airport, nothing much special about it, accept that everyone can enter the boarding zone!

Well, I left my apartment early because the night before I had a nightmare, missing my flight! Urghh… Me unlike someone famous, my hobby ain’t missing flights. The bus ride was nasty, there was no space for my bags! Had to hold on to them, and they were sliding everywhere! Gosh, and the diesel fumes were smoking up my nose! The worst part was that I prepared AUD$2.10 for the buss fare, all my other benjamins stayed in the bank. I got up the bus, and the driver said that its AUD2.50 instead! We argued for 30 seconds, as I was sure that the fare was 2.10 instead of 2.50! I took the same bus a day before! I guess Asians are destined to be ripped off!

Boarded that long tube thing I call the Modern Dinosaur.

And oh, the T-rex of all long tubes is the:

There! The Airbus T-Rex!

At Changi T2, Home it is then!

Arriving Home Very Soon :)

Hey peeps, I’ve just landed in Singapore Airport. 7 whole hours on the plane from Auzzie is pretty darn pathetic, butt hurts, screaming babies and smelly people. Oh well, its good to have access to Free WiFi again! Yay…

Peanuts for lunch, and a Singapore Sling. The Sling tastes funky!

SQ118 Still waiting…. Blueh…

Terminal 3 is so pweety!!

Yips, more updates to come soon 🙂 Chiaos

Hanging out with Nicolekiss

A couple days ago I heard that Nicolekiss was in town (Adelaide), then i decided to pop her an email. Was unsure if she would even reply! Kapish, minuites later, i received an email from her, inviting me for a roadtrip, this time it is way way way up north!

So, meeting Nicolekiss is like seeing Miranda Kerr, its not easy to even dream about seeing Miranda in person, so, that sums up that meeting Nicolekiss is bloody difficult! What more meeting up with her in AUSTRALIA!!!

We met up in Cocolat (my favourite choco cafe), with 2 other readers.

Thats the Legen-(wait for it)-Dary Nicolekiss!

Cool a*s Bryan

And sweet lil Jesse

We decided to go up North (Clare Valley), yet another wine region. Gosh, I’ve been hitting up all the wine regions in Adelaide, not that i am an alcoholic but maybe South Australia is just offering me tonnes of alcohol! Not that i’ve been drinking alot (also)…

The weather was pretty odd, it looked really warm but it was blistering cold! It was freaky windy too!

Nothing much happens in Clare, it’s just another town in SA.

Nicole was in search for her perfect wine, something rather zesty, something rather delightful. Clare offer loads of riesling, they’ve got Riesling trails everywhere! EVERYWHERE! I actually thought there would only be one, but it was everywhere! They are all linked together too, the trail passes through the rolling hills, vineyards and a couple of sheeps. But the weather was too funky, we decided to roam in our car instead.

Bryan decided to ditch us for work, big mistake! He missed out on the rather “high” Nicole! Hah, she was really funky, too bad there was no time for recording, could have black-mailed her.

We were really lucky to actually walk in to the brewery, normally the brewery would be kept a secret, but the peeps at Clare are a bunch of awesome spots! I was crazy excited about entering the brewery, thought that it would be some kind of magic house where they turn grape juice into magical tasting liquid things. But no, it was just a big warm room that smells like nestum…

See? 2 wooden barrels and a couple of aluminium ones. Nothing fancy!

Jesse: urgh… more wine…

The cellar doors in Clare Valley do stand out differently compared to the ones in Barrosa. The brand and packaging are way funkier, they go to the extent where they incorporate hitting people in the head with cricket bat and 3 pigs running around…

That said, the view on the hills are senselessly AMAZING! It’s best visiting vinyards in winter. My conclusion about South Australia is that nothing looks good in summer (other than the sun bathers on Glenelg).

Knowing her through the web (blog), Nicole seems to be the really good girl type, but after a couple of tastings, this was what happened.

She craves for more!

Way way more!!!

Looks may be deceiving yes?

Oh well, people up in Clare Valley converts their house into Cellar Doors, and heck, it looks like one big alcoholic house, i bet Sean would be dying to live in the cellar doors when he gets here!

Dining in the vine yards is a must! Prices might be slightly steeper than expected, but nothing beats an unforgettable experience. The creativity of the cooks, the charisma of the servers and the serene beauty of mother nature that is surrounding you just makes SA a much much better destination! (I am biased) Specially with awesome company.

Bread with red sprinkled plus garlic anchovy dip, and a dash of salad!

But some people could not be bothered about it

She loves her…. Cat

I rather love the Cabernet Sauvignon in this region, they taste really mature, not that the riesling sucked but they could have been better! We stumbled on a really really expensive bottle of fortified white, and there was only a tad bit left for tasting. It was senselessly amazing! I kinda forgot what it was called, but i am getting one of it for Daddy!

See that For Sale sign? The bottle is right in front of that sign…

Oh well, they will only be releasing it on October, gonna get one for my birthday! Whoopie!

Hmmph, the trip up North with the 2 ladies was awesome! Although it ended up with some really sick gay talk, but yeah… I didnt know girls were into gays!

Btw, Mama and Papa said not to make funny face or you would end up like Jesse!
